Beginning 2019- End of 2020, the:artist:network designs and executes a major retrofit and renovation for a historic landmark building in St.Gallen, Switzerland. The thirteen new units follow a modular system of Micro, Midi and Maxi proportions. We designed to optimize space and take into consideration the needs of the modern renter. Despite variations in size, all units offer the same core elements and levels of materialization. State-of-the-art kitchen technology, fiber optics, floor heating, seamless concrete flooring, granite surfaces, and sliding walls for individual layouts characterizing the program.
The prolonged stay on site allowed the design team to inform and inspire the design process with the remarkable beauty of the natural environment.
