First visit to Beijing at the invitation of the chief curator of the Imperial Palace Museum, Shulin Zhao. Reunion with Lee Fexue who had traveled to the United States and shared our studios in 1990, after the amnesty program for artists following the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Curated by Lee Fexue “Shengsi Mural Project” located on Shengsi Island, ZheJiang Province promoting artistic initiatives to aid fishing villages in time of national fishing sequestration. My family was invited by the governor and mayor of the island to participate in creating several murals. Shengsi had been closed to foreign visitors until our arrival.
